Introduction
In order to proxy and cache Helm charts from the Mittwald repository (https://helm.mittwald.de/) via the Helm Artifactory Remote Repository. To do this you need to configure the Helm Remote Repository in Artifactory as described below.
Resolution
- Create a Legacy Helm Remote Repository:
Set the URL to https://helm.mittwald.de/ and the Charts Base URL to https://helm.mittwald.de/charts/.
- Enable Bypass HEAD Requests:
In the Advanced tab of the remote repository settings, select the option for 'Bypass HEAD requests'
- Create a Legacy Helm Virtual Repository:
Create a virtual repository and include the legacy remote repository created in step 1 in its configuration.
Important
JFrog Artifactory supports the resolution of Helm charts from local and virtual Helm chart repositories. To resolve Helm charts from remote Helm chart repositories, you need to aggregate them in a virtual Helm chart repository.
- Update Your Helm Client:
Please run helm repo add and helm repo update as per the SetMeUp instructions for the Helm virtual repository.

Test the Configuration:
Below is an example of setting up and resolving a chart from the Mittwald repository via Artifactory Virtual Repository:
$ ll

$ helm repo add test-mittwald-vrt https://${rtHost}/artifactory/api/helm/test-mittwald-vrt --username ${user} --password ${TKN}
"test-mittwald-vrt" has been added to your repositories
$ helm repo update
Hang tight while we grab the latest from your chart repositories...
...Successfully got an update from the "test-mittwald-vrt" chart repository
Update Complete. ⎈Happy Helming!⎈
$ helm pull test-mittwald-vrt/kubernetes-replicator
