To validate whether the failed connection is due to the upstream endpoint, you may perform the following test.
Send a head request directly against the upstream as shown below:
If the user receives the same output, they may disregard the “Connection failed” error message and proceed to configure the remote repository. The user won’t be able to view the packages in the remote repository. However, they should still be able to install packages as long as the proper configurations have been made.
