Issue
Customers upgrading to Artifactory 7.146.x who use MySQL, MariaDB, or Microsoft SQL Server may experience increased database CPU utilization caused by expensive metadata queries.
Affected environments may show a high volume of slow database queries, primarily involving the nodes and node_props tables.
For example:
2026-xx-xxxxx:xx:xx.xxxx [jfrt ] [INFO ] [<trace-id>] [.d.u.ArtifactoryJdbcHelper:151]
[tp-nio-8081-exec-517] - Slow DB query activity: kind=http/get, group=pkg_info,
name=/artifactory/api/nuget/{repoKey}/FindPackagesById{ignoreParens: (?:\(\))?}, pkg=nuget
2026-xx-xxxxx:xx:xx.xxxx [jfrt ] [INFO ] [<trace-id>] [o.j.s.JdbcHelper:662] [tp-nio-8081-exec-553]
- Slow DB query: "select n.repo as itemRepo,n.node_path as itemPath,n.node_name as
itemName,n.created as itemCreated,n.modified as itemModified,n.updated as itemUpdated,n.created_by
as itemCreatedBy,n.modified_by as itemModifiedBy,n.node_type as itemType,n.bin_length as
itemSize,n.node_id as itemId,n.depth as itemDepth,n.sha1_actual as itemActualSha1,n.sha1_original as
itemOriginalSha1,n.md5_actual as itemActualMd5,n.md5_original as itemOriginalMd5,n.sha256 as
itemSha2,np.prop_key as propertyKey,np.prop_value as propertyValue,s.download_count as statDownloads
from nodes n left outer join node_props np on np.node_id = n.node_id left outer join stats s on
s.node_id = n.node_id left outer join node_props np100 on np100.node_id = n.node_id where ( n.repo =
'<repo-name>' and n.depth >= 1 and( np100.prop_key = 'nuget.id' and LOWER(np100.prop_value) =
'<package-name>')) and n.node_type = 1 and(n.node_path not like '.evidence/%' or n.node_path is
null) ". Duration: total=28.59 secs, execute=13.93 secs, get connection=14.66 secs.
and(n.node_path not like '.evidence/%' or n.node_path is null) ". Duration: total=28.59 secs,
execute=13.93 secs, get connection=14.66 secs.
Cause
This behavior is associated with the known issue RTDEV-84846, which affects Artifactory 7.146.x and up deployments using MySQL, MariaDB, or Microsoft SQL Server. See, here.
Resolution
As a workaround, add the following properties to the artifactory.system.properties file on all Artifactory nodes:
artifactory.nuget.caseInsensitive.db.lookup.enabled=true
artifactory.package.handler.nuget=false
The artifactory.system.properties file is located at:
$JFROG_HOME/artifactory/var/etc/artifactory/artifactory.system.properties
After applying the changes, restart all Artifactory nodes for the new properties to take effect.
